London maker of mobile phones in the UK will begin marketing a smartphone that different from the others. These so-called smartphones Icephone, made specifically for military purposes and will be marketed to the general public.
This 3G phone mermiliki 3-inch touch screen. Phone has three parts, screen, QWERTY keyboard and gamepad with various functions.
"The phone is to change shape according to a chill," said Graham Gilmour, from The Medical Phone in Edinburgh.
This phone has a function as mini-notebooks, gaming devices and satellite navigation via GPS (global positioning system). Gilmour demonstrated the device at 3GSM Asia exhibition in Macao.
Icephone took the name of "ICE button" which is under the keypad. Pressing this button means providing emergency sign, that the owner was in danger. The phone will provide location information from GPS data, provide medical records of mobile phone owners, owner's identity and other data.
The name of this phone ICE means "in-case of emergency" or "if in emergency circumstances". The information provided regarding phone contact data stored in the handset.
The phone also has a strong casing, capable of resistance dropped from a height of 1.2 meters. Mobile phones are also resistant to rain, snow or dropped in the sea water.
Icephone have started the manufacturing stage and will be sold in the second quarter of next year. The price is still competitive compared to other smartphones under U.S. $ 1,000.
This smartphone uses Microsoft Windows 6.0, full QWERTY keypad, a built in GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. It also has HSPA (high speed packet access) 3G network and supports quadband GSM
